Juggling with no Spin

posted Jul 19, 2011 1:16 PM by Aric Canonico

The key to high numbers while juggling is to use proper technique while training.  The following video link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ex_iDs146QY&feature=autoplay&list=ULYc9XSmhjrMc&index=1&playnext=1 is a good example of the proper technique when juggling.  Hope it helps!

10,000 Hours Until Perfection

posted Jul 19, 2011 1:11 PM by Aric Canonico

What Is the 10000 Hour Rule?

The 10000 Hour Rule is just that. This is the idea that it takes approximately 10000 hours of deliberate practice to master a skill.

For instance, it would take 10 years of practicing 3 hours a day to become a master in your subject. It would take approximately 5 years of full-time employment to become proficient in your field. Simply work out how many hours you have already achieved and calculate how far you need to go. You should be aiming for 10000 hours.

So get out there and start juggling and practicing today if you want to be the very best.

Back to Basics

Sometimes teams go backwards in their play.  We get so wrapped up in the "new" and "improved" that we forget the basic fundamentals of soccer.

This week, we have been working on crisp passes to our teammates.  We haven't worked on this since early last season and the coaches have felt it necessary to revisit this skill.

Wednesday's best practice was performed by Kate.  her WOTD?  STOP SIGNS.
